Rødstenen
At the bottom of a long meltwater valley lies the "Red Stone", which, like its twin off the coast (The Red Stone) consists of meltwater sand and meltwater gravel, pitted together by iron compounds washed out of the molar.
On a daily basis, however, the giant stone does not appear red. Most of the surface is covered by rare species, which give the stone a gray surface. That is why it is often called "Graystone".
The red stone is so special that several legends are associated with it. Apparently there should be a dragon inside the stone… or else it is a mountain man who once predicted King Valdemar Atterdag!
The red stone is about 14 meters wide and 5 meters thick, and it is protected, so that in a radius of 20 meters, no terrain changes, planting, buildings etc.
At Rødstenen there is an overnight place.
