Fur Museum
If Fur Bryghus is the taste of Fur, "Fur Fosiler 55,000,000 Years" is food for the intellect. The museum is a landscape historical and geological museum with a unique collection of fossils from the molar.
At the museum, visitors are told about the region's landscapes and subsoil - a story that ranges from the tropical ocean to the Arctic cold of the Ice Age. The landscape-historical insights come in the exhibitions in Gammelhavn and the museum farm "Det Lille Land". At the latter, guests can experience how farming at Fur has evolved over the past 150 years. Like a curl on its tail, Tarris Mill stands at the Museumsgården. Once there were over 20,000 farm mills in Denmark, but today Tarris Mill is the last of its kind in the country.
In the summer, the museum organizes hikes on Nordfur, where there is an opportunity to look at landscape geology, past memories as well as mole wrecking and finishing. In July there are working workshops with old crafts at the museum courtyard.
