Stendal High

The Bronze Age burial mounds Stendal Hoge thrones 76 meters above the Limfjord and is thus the island's highest point. From the top there is a view of most of Fur and the whole of the central part of the Limfjord country: Salling to the south, Mors to the west with Thy behind, Hanherred to the north, as well as Livø and the Himmerland coast to the east.

On the boundary of the large, active pier to the north lay until 1962 Bette Jenses Hyw (Lille Jenses High), which was originally the highest point of the island. In 1962, the unpowered mound was excavated to make way for the extraction of raw materials. Today, the sculpture "Molermanden" stands close to the place where Bette Jenses Høj once lay.
